Arizona says households that need to apply for SUN Bucks 2026 had to submit an application by August 3, 2026. The state notes online applications are the fastest option and that paper applications may take longer to process, especially if information is missing or hard to read.
Arizona families who are not automatically eligible for SUN Bucks must submit an application by August 3, 2026. For current Nutrition Assistance/SNAP and Cash Assistance clients, SUN Bucks are added to the household’s existing EBT card; other eligible families may receive a new EBT card by mail, and the state warns that outdated addresses may delay receipt.
Arizona has seen one of the sharpest SNAP participation drops in the country, with July 2026 reporting describing major benefit losses tied to federal SNAP changes, increased paperwork, and state processing strain. The reporting says nearly half a million Arizonans have lost food-stamp benefits since the federal changes took effect.
