Florida’s USDA-approved SNAP food restriction waiver began April 20, 2026, and continues to affect EBT purchases during August and September 2026. The waiver restricts purchases of soda, energy drinks, candy, and prepared desserts.
Florida’s SNAP purchase restrictions began April 20, 2026 and continue to affect purchases during May and June. SNAP benefits can no longer be used for soda, energy drinks, candy, and ultra-processed shelf-stable prepared desserts.
