Missouri - SNAP verification requirements change October 1

Missouri DSS announced that, effective October 1, 2026, SNAP applicants must provide documented proof for certain expenses and resources instead of relying only on self-attestation. The agency said no immediate action is required for people currently receiving SNAP.

Missouri - SNAP purchase restrictions begin October 1

USDA lists Missouri’s approved SNAP food restriction waiver with a target implementation date of October 1, 2026. The waiver restricts SNAP purchases of candy, prepared desserts, and certain unhealthy beverages.

Missouri - Healthy SNAP purchase restrictions scheduled for October 2026

Missouri’s Healthy SNAP waiver will make certain foods and beverages no longer SNAP- or SUN Bucks-eligible, including candy, pre-packaged ready-to-eat desserts, and certain beverages; the state says it anticipates implementation in October 2026.
