Nevada Current reported September 3, 2026 that northern Nevada residents who lost food purchased with SNAP benefits because of the Bug, Fred, Stallion, or Hawk fires, or related power outages, could request replacement benefits through September 7, 2026.
Nevada’s 2026 Summer EBT application window runs through August 9, 2026. Families needing to apply must do so by that deadline to be considered for 2026 benefits.
Nevada Legal Services says that due to recent federal law changes, Nevada SNAP recipients ages 18 to 64 who do not meet specific criteria may no longer receive SNAP benefits as of May 1, 2026.
