Rhode Island DHS says SNAP benefits, deductions, and income eligibility standards will change effective October 1, 2026, as part of the annual federal cost-of-living adjustment. Affected customers will receive benefit decision notices describing changes to their benefits.
Rhode Island’s SUN Bucks application remains open through the summer with a deadline of September 2, 2026. The state began issuing the one-time $120 per eligible child benefit in June, and families who expected benefits but did not receive them are instructed to apply.
