USDA’s updated SNAP staple-food stocking standards require SNAP-authorized retailers to comply with new stocking requirements by November 4, 2026. USDA says the rule changes retailer authorization/stocking requirements, not what SNAP customers may buy.

Nebraska follows federal SNAP grocery rules with USDA-approved state restrictions for some items.
Nebraska has an approved SNAP Food Restriction Waiver that restricts purchase of soda and energy drinks. Retailer checkout systems and state guidance control the final result.
USDA does not list Nebraska as operating the Restaurant Meals Program. Regular SNAP purchases generally cannot be used for restaurant meals unless a temporary disaster hot-food rule is active.
Cold deli food is usually allowed when it is meant to be eaten at home. Hot deli food is usually not allowed.
Check the label. Items with Nutrition Facts may be allowed. Items with Supplement Facts usually are not.
