How To Check Your EBT Balance
The safest way to check your EBT balance is through an official EBT channel: your receipt, the phone number on your card, your state’s official EBT website or app, or your state SNAP agency.

Four Safe Ways To Check Your Balance
1. Check your last receipt
Many grocery receipts show the remaining EBT balance after a purchase. This is often the fastest check if you recently used the card.
2. Call the number on your card
Use the customer service phone number printed on the back of your EBT card. This is the safest phone number to trust.
3. Use the official EBT website or app
Many states use an official EBT portal or mobile app where you can view balance and transaction information.
4. Contact your state SNAP agency
For case, eligibility, recertification, or missing-benefit questions, use your state agency or official EBT account tools.
Before You Enter Card Information
- Do not enter your PIN after following an unfamiliar text, email, ad, or social media link.
- Do not send your EBT card number, PIN, full case number, SSN, birthday, address, login, or password to a general information website.
- Use the URL from your state agency, the EBT processor, or the materials that came with your card.
- If you think someone has your card information, use official tools to change your PIN or contact EBT customer service.
